Lately I've had feelings to create photographs like these. I think the balance between black and white always intrigued me, but I guess I've never had the courage to do something completely radical. One of my other passions is drawing with pencil and charcoal. For me to push my photography to a point where the line between drawing and photography becomes a vague and surreal juxtapositon just makes sense for me right now. I think it is that subtle interplay of real and surreal that interests me; that sense that sometimes reality is itself distorted. In case you are wondering this is purely a photograph, no drawing was done here to manipulate the image in any way. And as you may have guessed from the title, this is an image of Hoover Dam, albeit not your usual shot.
