The sun was at high noon. I look up in amazement as I stare at this breathtaking, awe-inspiring, almost heavenly halo around the sun. I decide to have a little fun and point the camera straight up at the corner of a building in an attempt to create the illusion of a pyramid. I just thought it proper. These halos are created by the reflection and refraction of light by the cirrostratus clouds that are very high, and thus very cold, and so contain ice crystals. But let me tell you, there was nothing cold about that day!
