What I always loved about these waters is the difference in color from one to the other. To the East (of Sint Maarten) there is the Atlantic, to the West is the Caribbean Sea. Within the island is the lagoon. There is also a small pond you see here that is a nice shade of brown. In this photo, what you see in the distance is the Atlantic, in the center is the lagoon, and toward the bottom of the image you see the Caribbean Sea and the small pond....thus the title of the image, Shades. Oh, and let's not forget the beautiful blue skies above.
