As I was driving from Andorra to Toulouse, France, I came upon this area atop one of the Pyrenees Mountains...it was midday, but seemed as though it was late afternoon. Down close to sea-level, the weather was hot and dry with temperatures in the 80's or 90's. But as I progressed up the mountain and became surrounded by clouds and snow, the weather suddenly changed. Everything looked abandoned. No one was around. Everything was quiet and cold. Fog covered everything. Not only was it strange to see a gas station on the peak of a mountain, but the eery fog and haunting silence made me feel as if I weren't really awake.
Again shot with a Nikon N50 on slide film and scanned from the slide (not the print), so again sorry for quality issues. I want to scan these slides one day with a real slide scanner at high resolution...but until then these will do. I have a few more from this location, and will be posting those in the coming days.
