Also part of the Philipsburg (Sint Maarten) series. To complement the brightly colored clothing and fabrics, you will also see colorful windows. The simple and beautiful happiness I saw in the eyes of the Creole people, I also saw in their architecture. One reflects the other in many ways, and this unity in spirit makes this culture come alive.

• Yes, indeed Micki! I actually lived there for two years so was able to relate better with the people than I would have if it were just a vacation. I had many interesting conversations with people telling me of their upbringing and how they came to end up there. Many are from Jamaica or Guadeloupe or the surrounding islands who came to Sint Maarten looking for work to help support their families back home. I couldn't believe how they opened up to me so quickly. That alone tells you something about the culture.
