Amazing what a little mass mixed with high velocity (around 30,000 MPH) will do to our little planet. This meteor crater is about 4,000 feet in diameter and about 570 feet deep, and was caused by a nickel-iron meteorite that is thought to have been around 150 feet across. It is speculated that all life within a radius of around 2 miles from the impact site would have been killed immediately by an explosion that was 150 times more powerful than the atomic bombs used in Japan during World War II. Now stand back in awe of the powerful forces of the Universe.
